Blythe Masters
Head of Global Commodities
Blythe Masters is J.P. Morgan's head of Global Commodities, and is responsible for the global team that provides integrated physical and financial commodity solutions products for clients. The business provides market-making, structuring, risk management, financing and warehousing capabilities across a full spectrum of commodity asset classes. She was named to this position in 2007, and since that time she has also served on the JPMorgan Chase Executive Committee.
Blythe has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. From 2004 to 2007, she was chief financial officer of the Investment Bank, and since then she has served on the Investment Bank Operating Committee. Prior to that role, Blythe was J.P. Morgan's head of Global Credit Portfolio and Credit Policy and Strategy, and was responsible for managing the credit and market risks of the bank's retained credit positions, the development of credit strategy, policies, infrastructure and limits to measure and control credit risk. In addition, she coordinated the financial and risk reporting of the firm's credit activities. Earlier positions at J.P. Morgan include head of North American Structured Credit Products and co-head of Asset Backed Securitization and head of Global Credit Derivatives Marketing. Her responsibilities have included the structuring and distribution of credit derivative products and related credit risk management strategies, both for J.P. Morgan and its clients.
Blythe joined J.P. Morgan full-time in 1991, after having completed a number of internships at the bank dating back to 1987. Blythe is the chair emeritus of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), whose mission is to support a strong financial industry, job creation and economic growth, while building trust and confidence in the financial markets. Blythe is also the Board Chair of the NY Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which is the world's largest source of private funds for breast cancer research and community outreach programs.
Blythe received a B.A. in economics from Trinity College, Cambridge. She lives in New York with her husband and daughter.
